Face danger and adventure once again as you search far and wide for the most precious treasures the Caribbean has to offer, then quickly find a safe harbor to hide priceless gold, rare emeralds and iridescent pearls. Explore, accumulate cargo, hire crews and commandeer rival ships, but don't forget to bury your loot. As you sail, look for a place to settle down once your life on the high seas is over, but before that, you need to get ahead of your opponents, because a single trip around the Caribbean won't be enough. You must make three trips to retire as the richest and greatest buccaneer of all time.

Pirates of Maracaibo is a standalone game set in the same universe as Maracaibo (published in 2019) although it is more easily accessible. Over three rounds, buccaneers and pirates visit numerous Caribbean islands with their ships and recruit allies along the way. They capture their rivals' ships, undertake expeditions and bury treasure. They must acquire the right cards, use dice skillfully and develop their fleet.
