Create an accountMölkky, an outdoor game straight from Scandinavia!
Mölkky is a game of skill invented in Finland in 1996. The game is inspired by Kyykkä (also called Finnish skittles or Karelian skittles), a century-old game whose objective is to throw a wooden bat at skittles to get them out of a square.
Small important clarification, the word Mölkky is pronounced “Meulkku” in French. You will be able to shine among your friends.
Mölkky, a throwing game!
Mölkky is a game of skill whose principle is simple: knock down wooden skittles using a piece of wood, the launcher, called Mölkky. The game includes 12 pins, each numbered 1 to 12. The first team to score exactly 50 points wins the game.
Mölkky, a friendly game to play in parks!
The course of a game: before starting the game, the players place the pins approximately 4 meters from the throwing line.
When a pin has been knocked down, it is straightened on its foot without lifting it from the ground, with the number facing the throwing area. This is how during the game, the pins scatter and move away.
Mölkky, a game of precision!
The players' goal is to be the first to reach 50 points. To do this, you have to knock down the pins using the Mölkky. For the thrower's throw, all styles of throws are allowed. The player must, however, ensure that his throw is not dangerous for other people present nearby.
There are only two ways to score points:
A player knocks down a single pin: he gains as many points as the number written on the pin.
A player knocks down several pins: he gains as many points as there are pins knocked down.
If a team exceeds 50 points during the game, it drops to 25 points.
If a team makes 3 consecutive blanks, that is to say, 3 throws without touching a single pin, it is purely and simply eliminated.
Mölkky, a game in several rounds!
Mölkky is played in 3 rounds. The team that starts the first round is drawn. The team that did not start the first round begins the second. For the third round, in the event of a tie (one round everywhere), the teams must add up their points. The one who scored the most points begins the last round. In the event of a perfect tie, the players use Mölkkout, a precision shot to decide between the teams.
The Mölkkaari!
This Scandinavian term defines the area from which the active player must make his throw. This line takes the shape of a trapezoid and must not be touched when throwing. Otherwise, the throw is invalidated.
